Microsoft are reportedly set to launch a disc-less Xbox One according to reliable tech website Thurrott. While the next generation Xbox is expected to launch in 2020, this disc-less version of the Xbox One will reportedly be available in Spring 2019.
The intention of this disc-less version of the console is to lower the price. Thurrot expect the new Xbox One to be as much as $100 USD lower than the current consoles.
I’m impatient when it comes to buying games and waiting for them to be delivered, so I purchase most of my games digitally. This console would be perfect for users like myself. Microsoft are said to be considering a “disc-to-digital” scheme allowing you to trade in physical versions of a game for a digital download version.
Thurrott also mentioned that Microsoft are likely to create a revised version of the Xbox One S to satisfy the users that still prefer to purchase physical copies of games.
